DEVELOPMENT OF NOMENCLATURE FOR SAND LAYERS OF VANAVARA FORMATION, VENDIAN, OF THE BAIKIT PETROLEUM REGION

The paper deals with various approaches used to classify Vendian productive strata within the Lena-Tunguska petroleum province and to develop adequate nomenclature. The authors summarized exploration history of Vanavara sand layers and their petroleum potential within the Krasnoyarsk Region. Some options of permeable sand layers designation in the Baikit petroleum region were suggested based on comparison of Vanavara Formation sections in the Baikit and Katanga petroleum regions.
