REPRESENTATION OF DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENTS IN PALEOGEOGRAPHIC RECONSTRUCTIONS

T. A. Divina, V. S. Staroseltsev

The paper considers possibilities to represent dynamics of environment with accumulating sediments of different composition on paleogeographic maps, including migration of source area boundaries and a sedimentation basin. The authors suggested identifying specific environments, which favor formation of strata with good storage potential and sealing properties, and conditions intensifying migration.

Key words: dynamic approach, paleogeographic maps, migration of boundaries, localized accumulation of salt, mechanism of clinoform member formation, paleouplifts, faults.
