THE RATIONAL USING OF THE REPUBLIC OF BURYATIA’S NATURAL RESOURCES

The North-Baikal copper-nickel province, comprising five massifs, is situated in the north of the Republic of Buryatia. The massifs are composed of magnesium-silicate rocks, which reserves amount to billions of tons. During the process of mining these rocks will be shifted to dumps. The possibility of using of these rock types is shown by the example of the Yoko-Dovyren massif. The quality of sand and rock detritus from magnesiumsilicate rocks was defined; it has been proved that these rocks can be used in construction works. Suchsituation will enable reducing of the environmental load through the establishment of clean mining enterprises.
