DISTINGUISHING FEATURES, DISCRIMINATORY CRITERIA AND GOLD CONTENT OF REDEPOSITED WEATHERING CRUSTS IN NORTH-EASTERN SALAIR

A. V. Alyamkin

Distinctive features of redeposited weathering crusts in the North-Eastern Salair are discussed. These formations have expressed geological and structural, lithological and petrographic, mineralogical and geochemical particularities, which allow attributing them to some criteria when prospecting for supergene ores and placer gold. As an example, the Iyunskoye gold-barite-complex deposit is considered. It is located within the North-Eastern Salair and contains the residual and redeposited gold-bearing weathering crusts.

Key words: North-Eastern Salair, gold-bearing weathering crust.
