AN EXPERIMENT TO RECORD THE EARTH’S GRAVITY FIELD INTENSITY WITH FIELD QUARTZ GRAVIMETERS DURING ECLIPSES OF THE SUN IN NOVOSIBIRSK

A. P. Fedyanin, A. V. Fateev

It is noted that during the total eclipse of the Sun there is a flurry in nature. People start being anxious, they want to know what is going on at the moment. In 1981 and 2008 we tried to follow the reaction of quartz astatized systems and gravimeter levels located in the zone of the total eclipse of the Sun in Novosibirsk. As a result, it turns out that home sensitive gravimeters used in Russia for commercial minerals prospecting and exploration allow to measur changes in gravity field intensity during eclipses of the Sun. We have developed a technique for recording and distinguishing gravitational effects at the sensitivity level of such gravimeters. Displacement of gravimeter level bubbles on the scale at stable temperature conditions of observations indicates plumb oscillations at a given observation point. These results may be interesting to theorist physicists in case of fundamental developments of the gravitation theory.

Key words: eclipses of the Sun, Earth’s gravitational fi eld, fi eld quartz gravimeters, gravitational effect of eclipse.
