NEW INSIGHTS INTO THE PALEOZOIC STRATIGRAPHIC CHART OF SOUTHEASTERN WEST SIBERIA

The paper revises the present stratigraphic layering and correlation chart of the Paleozoic strata in the southeastern West Siberia. Seismic stratigraphic analysis with applying of new CDP seismic data was the most effective in tratigraphic and lateral correlation of sedimentary and igneous-sedimentary rocks tapped by few wells because of poor representativity and preservation of paleontological material causing ambiguous dating of the host rocks. Such analysis, together with the latest data derived from parametric drilling in the Predyenisei sedimentary basin, enabled the authors to reconsider available preliminary approximate age estimates of the pre-Jurassic sedimentary and igneous-sedimentary sequences and to suggest a brand new version of stratigraphic layering and correlation chart.
