The distribution of chemical elements in sediments of Lake Baikal reflects the physicochemical conditions of formation of deposits and diagenetic transformations. The paper shows the influence of various factors: edimentation, biogenic, diagenetic and to a certain extent, the climate, the nature of the local distribution of uranium, phosphorus and other elements in the fragments of columns sediments stations St8 and St11, selected on Academic Ridge Lake Baikal.

Key words: sediments of Lake Baikal, the Academic Ridge, uranium, phosphorus, gold, trace elements, diagenesis.
