NATIVE GOLD IN SEDIMENTARY CYCLE – NOTES ON THE PROBLEM IN THE LIGHT OF F. N. SHAKHOV’S STATEMENTS

G. V. Nesterenko, V. V. Kolpakov, L. P. Boboshko

The present work considers the development of some F. N. Shakhov’s ideas related to the problem of native gold behavior in a sedimentary cycle with an emphasis on autochthonous alluvial placers and behavior of the fine and thin gold (FTG) during their formation and transfer by trunk rivers. Data on the distribution of gold in the bottom sediments of the East Siberian and Chukchi Seas are given. In the course of the FTG transfer its differentiation on hydraulic size and dispersion occurs, against the background of which the gold concentration on hydrodynamic barriers takes place.

Key words: native gold, fine and thin gold, alluvial placers, sedimentary cycle.
