URANIUM GEOCHEMISTRY IN THE PROCESSES OF WEATHERING AND HYDROGENIC ORE FORMATION

N. A. Roslyakov, S. M. Zhmodik, V. D. Strakhovenko, Yu. S. Vosel

This article discusses the geochemical features of uranium in the formation of weathering crusts on igneous rocks, in various paleoclimatic conditions, and at the Upper Cretaceous to Holocene ages. Factors controling trends of natural radioactive elements redistribution and evolution of their modes of occurrence in the hydrogenic ore formation were defined on the basis of abundant samples using neutron radiography methods and balance calculation of uranium and thorium in the original rock – weathered rock system.

Key words: geochemistry, natural radionuclide, exogenous process.
