THE CAMBRIAN TROITSKO-MIKHAILOVSKY SALT DIPAIR IN THE WEST OF THE CIS-SAYAN-YENISEI SYNECLISE

The geological structure and stages of formation of the complex Cambrian Troitsko-Mikhaylovsky salt diapir in the west of the Cis-Sayan-Yenisei syneclise in the Siberian Platform were established relying on seismic data acquired in recent years. The process commenced at the turn of the Silurian and Devonian periods. There are three major stages of the salt diapir formation that have been distinguished, and the principal factors affecting the tectonic and petrological evolution of the structure have been characterized. The authors emphasise a special role of the Archean - Early Proterozoic Kansk massif of effusive rocks at all of the stages. It was stated that eventually the length of the submeridional salt diapir reaches 110 m, and the width varies between 3-5 and 10-15 km. The Cambrian and Vendian strata at the slopes are elevated up to 500-1200 m.
