STATE AND MAJOR PROBLEMS OF EXPLORATION FOR DIAMONDS IN THE SIBERIAN PLATFORM

The authors have determined the efficiency of geological exploration for diamonds in the Siberian Platform within the territory of ALROSA activities. The authors assess the performance of basic diamond exploration methods applied for the territories with overlapped ore bodies, and discuss major problems and risks of geological exploration, with the ways to minimise them at regional and exploration stages of work. Major areas of research are defined, which enhance performance and efficiency of exploration for diamonds.
