STRATOTYPE SECTION OF THE ILEMOROVО FORMATION (MIDDLE DEVONIAN, SOUTH MINUSINSK DEPRESSION)

Detailed description of the stratotype section of the Middle Devonian Ilemorovo Formation of the South Minusinsk depression was given. The stratotype true thickness (596 m) was clarified. For the first time, the Formation was divided into two subformations. The lower one is composed of rhytmical alternating siltstones-sandstone deposits with a dominant role of consertal sandstones, while its bottom is represented by transitional member with deposits of the underlying Askiz Formation. The increase in the role of fine-grained material and appearance of carbonate deposits in the section is observed in the upper subformation.
