The maceral composition of the Tyumen Formation coals in the south-east of the West Siberian megabasin has been studied microscopically in transmitted light. Their description has been carried out, groups, classes, subclasses, types and subtypes have been highlighted; photographs of the most typical macerals and their percentages in some samples have been given. Based on these data, it has been found that the coals were formed under close facies conditions. The following material and petrographic composition prevails mainly: groups of humolites, class of helitolites, subclass of helites, type of lipoid-fusinite-helites, subtype of homohelites. The initial material for them was the remains of higher plants – lignocellulosic tissues, to a lesser extent - lipoid components. In the area under consideration, the coals of the Tyumen Formation have practically not been studied in this regard.

Keywords: West Siberia, Tyumen Formation, maceral composition, conditions of generation.
