HYDROCARBON SYSTEMS OF CAMBRIAN REEF DEPOSITS OF THE SIBERIAN PLATFORM

The paper considers the main elements of the Cambrian reef deposits hydrocarbon systems on the Siberian Platform, assessed as highly promising. Most researchers accept high-quality source deposits (domanicoid deposits of the Early-Middle Cambrian Kuonamka Formation) as a source of hydrocarbons, which were formed within an accumulative-topographic depression with an uncompensated type of sedimentation. Laterally, they replace the reef deposits. Following the results of geological exploration, the terrigenous Vendian play is predicted to be an additional source of hydrocarbons. In West Yakutia, the wedging zone of the Vendian petroleum deposits coincides with the territory of the Cambrian reef development. Data on the composition of naphthides found in rift deposits of various parts of the Siberian Platform is presented. The composition peculiarities of hydrocarbon fluids (oils, gases) are related to geological conditions of their manifestations. The reservoir properties of rift deposits basically are complex and highly variable and. The main factors determining reservoir properties of rocks are fracturing, dolomitization, recrystallization and leaching. The regional fluid seal consists of thick strata of clayey–sulphate-carbonaceous composition of the Middle–Upper Cambrian, overlapping reef formations.
