Numerous and diverse calcareous algae (Girvanella, Razumovskia, Botominella, Subtifloria, Korilophyton, Proaulopora, etc.) have been found in the Upper Riphean of the Turukhansk Uplift in the Nizhnyaya Tunguska River basin. A similar complex of remains, more typical for Vendian and Cambrian sediments has been first identified at this stage. The data obtained indicate that calcification of cyanobacteria began to occur already in the Upper Riphean, that allow researchers to imagine the evolution of this group in the Precambrian in a different way.
Keywords: Riphean, calcareous algae (cyanobacteria), Turukhansk uplift, Nizhnyaya Tunguska.
