CAMPANIAN AND MAASTRICHTIAN STAGES IN REGIONAL STRATIGRAPHICAL UNITS OF WESTERN SIBERIA (BASED ON THE STUDY OF FORAMINIFERA)

V. M. Podobina

National Research Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russia

The foraminiferal complex of the upper beds of the Berezovian regional substage or Slavgorodian regional stage is dated to the Early Campanian. Beds with this complex are identified as the Bathyriphon vitta, Recurvoides magnificus zone. The Late Campanian zone with the similarly-named Cibicidoides primus complex is determined in the lower beds of the Gankinskian regional stage. Early and Late Maastrichtian foraminiferal zones are known higher up in the deposits of this regional stage. Relying on differences in the lithology and foraminiferal composition, a depositional break between the Slavgorodian and Gankinskian regional stages corresponding to the Middle Campanian is marked.

Keywords: foraminifera, Campanian, Maastrichtian, interraption, Western Siberia.
