The article analyzes the generalized material from a long-term systematic study of the Shakhtama ore field. A concise review of the geological structure, tectonomagmatic features of ore-forming processes and formation conditions of the ore field, and geochemical and hydrothermal-metasomatic zoning of produced mineralization within its boundaries is provided. Analysis of the obtained data has revealed significant scales of hydrothermal-metasomatic alterations within the flanks of the ore field (in addition to the well-known Shakhtama molybdenum deposit), thus laying the ground for searches for deposits with multimetal ores containing disseminated copper-molybdenum, and gold economically viable for open-pit mining. Based on the distinctive characteristics and criteria for localization of the molybdenum-copper-porphyry association type of deposits described in the article, a predictive model of mineral prospectivity has been developed for the Shakhtama ore field, according to which the exploration targets of the ore field are defined as gold-coppermolybdenum ore association.
Keywords: Shakhtama ore field, predictive model of mineral prospectivity, molybdenum-copper-porphyry, gold-copper-molybdenum formation, hydrothermal-metasomatic zoning.
