MIDDLE DEVONIAN OSTRACOD BIOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE LEBEDYANSKY QUARRY (NORTHEASTERN MARGIN OF THE KUZNETSK BASIN): NEW DATA

The key section of Givetian terrigenous-carbonate deposits in southeastern Western Siberia was investigated. Analysis of ostracod assemblages from the Mazalovo-Kitat Horizon exposed in the northeastern margin of the Kuznetsk Basin, yielded new data allowing to revise the biostratigraphic framework of the region. Two biostratons were recognized at the rank of beds with fauna (Moorites lebedjanicus and Bairdia carinata) which are characteristic of the middle and upper parts of the Givetian interval, respectively. A monographic study of the species Coeloenellina cavitata Rozhdestvenskaja, 1962, distinguished by a wide lateral and stratigraphic distribution is conducted. The images of the representative ostracod taxa are provided. The results obtained contribute to the existing knowledge of the MiddleDevonian stratigraphy and paleontology of Western Siberia.
