A qualitative assessment of datum static corrections determined from reflection tomography is considered. The structural and velocity heterogeneity of the low-velocity zone (LVZ) is a critical component for near-surface model. The solution includes common shot gathers aligned at the first breaks after crosscorrelation, computation of the near-surface velocity model to determine static corrections using Diving Wave Tomography, the Omega system module. Effectiveness of the solution was evaluated based on the mathematical modeling results. It has been shown that the final resolution of the near-surface model depends on available data quality and initial approximation of the Diving-Wave derived shallow velocity model, which may not provide optimum results.
